Equipment Requirements

 

As a reminder, the Nassau REMAC requires that ambulance must have the following equipment on board:

     BLS - Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)

                Pulse-oximeter

     ALS - Glucometer (Special Note:  this item requires a limited lab license, any agency that has not filed for this license must do so without delay in order to insure that you will be able to place the Glucometer in service by January 1st.)

 

NEW State Equipment Requirement

Effective May 1, 2010 all in-service ambulances must have an AED (or manual defibrillator for ALS) and a supply of EpiPens.

 IMPORTANT - all agencies (BLS & ALS) must have a collaborative agreement, with a physician, on file with the Nassau REMSCo & NYS BEMS.
